WGS MEETINGS

The Washington Guitar Society (WGS) used to meet one Friday of every month. Specific dates and performers were listed in the calendar of events. Meetings with a featured performer began with an open stage from 7:00-7:30 pm and continued with the performance at 7:30 pm. Meetings were free and open to the public. Meeting locations alternated between the Chevy Chase Community Center (5601 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC) and the Levine School of Music (2801 Upton St., NW, Washington, DC). A hat was passed for voluntary contributions to the artist. For information call John Rodgers at (301) 767-3383.

WGS OPEN STAGE

The WGS used to host an open stage at the start of those meetings which spotlight a featured performer. It was not a competition, just plain fun. This was a great time to try pieces out for a very interested audience. The open stages started at 7:00 pm and were followed by the featured performer at 7:30 pm. WGS 'Members Recitals', 'Youth Concerts', and 'Ensemble Sessions' did not feature an open stage. It took place at the location specified under each calendar of event. There was plenty of free parking.

THANKS TO MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS
We thank everyone who played for us at our members' recital and on our open stage. You can do it, too! Share your favorite piece! Get performance experience! See your name in the newsletter! Many thanks, also, to those who were making the newsletter a team effort. This
gave us a bigger and better newsletter. We would like to have had more contributors of articles, reviews, music, etc. Please let John Rodgers know if you would like to be a part of a new effort. We hope a new leadership steps in to see again all of you at our meetings.
